In September 2009 the LR Ministry of Culture prepared a Draft Edition of the Law on Provision of Information to the Public and presented it to the public for harmonization. The main aim of the draft edition was the transposition of the AVMS directive into the national law and the implementation of its provisions thereof.

The LR Law on Funding of Political Parties and Political Campaigns, and Control of Funding foresees, that political advertising and its sources of funding shall be marked and adequately separated from the rest of the disseminated information.

On 26 April 2008 new amendments to the Law on Alcohol Control came into force. The amended Law abolished the unconditional prohibition to advertise alcoholic beverages in TV programmes.

On 25 February the State Consumer Rights Protection Authority imposed a fine of 580 euros upon the national broadcaster “TV 3” for the violation of the provisions of the Law on Alcohol Control.
