The Radio and Television Commission of Lithuania together with the Media Support Foundation organized the annual Contest “Pragiedruliai” (tr.lucid) for the Best Culture Programmes for the eighth time in 2010.

 

The idea of the contest is to encourage radio and television production on cultural values and to promote programmes for children. Each year it gets better reputation, becomes more popular and welcome by the broadcasters and independent producers.

 

For the purpose of evaluation of the programmes submitted to the Contest the Radio and Television Commission forms the Evaluation Commission comprised of eleven famous Lithuanian culture representatives. The winners are awarded with diplomas, prizes and bonuses. The programmes are rated considering their professionalism, creativity, actuality, cultural values and other criteria.

 

There were 51 programmes submitted to the Contest of 2009.

 

It should be noted that local Radio and TV programmes rank high in the Contest, it is also very important that alongside with the well-known cycles of programmes a significant number of new programmes are being produced each year.
