LRTK orders blocking of 135 illegal streaming and IPTV websites
A total of 135 websites illegally offering films, TV series, television channels, and IPTV services will be blocked in Lithuania.
The decision was adopted by the Radio and Television Commission of Lithuania (LRTK) after receiving authorization from the Regional Administrative Court. Internet service providers have been instructed to block access to the identified websites within five days through DNS blocking.
According to the LRTK, the operators of these platforms were providing services without complying with legal notification requirements, meaning the websites were operating unlawfully in Lithuania.
The list of blocked websites includes well-known illegal content platforms such as “123Movies,” “Soap2Day,” mirror versions of “The Pirate Bay,” “YTS,” “Kickass Torrents,” “SolarMovie,” and other similar websites. Platforms offering illegal IPTV services are also included in the blocking measures.
“These websites frequently change domains and attempt to avoid enforcement, but the LRTK consistently responds to such violations. Our goal is to reduce access to illegal content and strengthen the legal digital content market,” said LRTK Chairperson Mantas Martišius.
Users attempting to access the blocked websites will be redirected to the informational website stop.rtk.lt.
The LRTK emphasizes that restrictions apply only to websites operating in violation of legal requirements and failing to comply with mandatory obligations.
The Commission also notes that the illegal distribution of audiovisual content online remains a systemic issue, and the LRTK will continue taking action against such violations in the future.
